Every Tuesday, from 7:00-8:00 Eastern, we explore authoring capabilities executed fully within "data analysis" software platforms as we live code during an open Q&A session. Come ask questions about your own projects or just learn about possibilities!
This week we'll generate dev badges - those little pill icons that are common in developer circles. These help communicate the status of your project to others in a concise, easily interpretable manner. Even if you don't consider yourself a "developer", come check out some tools and habits of this impressive field.
No prior experience with R is needed for these weekly sessions - just curiosity and and open mind.
---
The weekly sessions are titled, "R for Authoring" (or, sometimes, "R is for Authoring"), although we're not technically (mostly) authoring with "R", but rather plain text supported by markdown and/or LaTeX within processors purportedly intended to process (primarily) quantitative data, but that's okay because...
"Another noteworthy characteristic of this...(sic) ...is that it doesn't always tell the truth... ...the author feels that this technique of deliberate lying will actually make it easier for you to learn the ideas" (Knuth, pp. vi-vii)
