Ruth in today's passage was gleaning barley silently under the scorching sun from early morning at the very bottom of life, looking only to the master's grace. Through Ruth 2:1-7, Pastor Geumbu Baek illuminates how God turns the steps and sweat of our weary daily lives, which the world calls "coincidence," into His perfect "providence." 1. Silently keep the place of obedience in the field of life given to you today (Despite losing everything and facing the handicap of being a foreigner, Ruth did not look for shortcuts but silently gleaned from morning till now. Just like the servants who drew water at the wedding in Cana, God's miracles are experienced not through flashy results, but when we quietly carry out our small acts of obedience where God works.) 2. Trust God who turns our 'coincidence' into His perfect 'providence' (The field Ruth entered "by chance" happened to be Boaz's field, and "at that moment" Boaz appeared. To Ruth it looked like coincidence, but to God's eyes, it was a flawless providence without a single error. Just as He prepared Boaz, God is perfectly preparing our tomorrows and meetings even within our weary steps.) Just as Jesus Christ, the true 'Boaz' who saved us, sought us out as we wandered in the field of despair, there are no coincidences in our daily encounters and sweat.
