‘Diesel Gala Weekend’ - Bluebell Railway | 4~6/09/26

The Bluebell Diesel Gala has come on leaps and bounds since its return for the 2024 season. With last year’s gala being another successful instalment, the Bluebell would go bigger and better with this year’s with a heavy Network South East theme in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Network South East region. In order to complement the theme, the Bluebell would go very heavy with visiting diesel traction with many visitor sporting the infamous NSE livery. 03179 would visit from the IoW and would do brake van rides inbetween Sheffield Park & Horsted Keynes. 73128 would take a break from her mainline duties to make an appearance at this years gala, running alongside our resident 73, ED040. Sandwiched inbetween the two 73s would be the visiting EPD, one of them in NSE. They would take the first train south from Horsted Keynes, fitting in well with the overall retheme into NSE. 50026 would attempt to be present at the gala also, falling three times in three days: the railway would make the better decision to constantly run her with a buddy to make sure she don’t stack it again. Two 31s would grace the railway and perform spectacularly well while 60028 would become the first 60 to grace Bluebell metals. Lastly, 33108 & 1001 would continue their long term hire on the railway with 1001 running some of her last services before returning to St Leonard’s depot.
