Seventy days and 1,500 miles from Canada, I crossed the state line out of Wyoming and into Colorado. This is Day 69 and 70 of the Continental Divide Trail, the halfway point of the whole hike. After days in the wide open Great Basin, it felt amazing to walk back into the trees. I passed a bighorn sheep, built a little CDT logo out of rocks, ate my last dinner in Wyoming, and then stepped across into Colorado, my fourth state after Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. 1,500 miles down, roughly half the trail, and Steamboat Springs and the real midpoint are just two days away. Over the next few months I'm hiking more than 3,000 miles (5,000 km) from Canada to Mexico through Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. It's my third of the Triple Crown after the Appalachian Trail and the PCT, and it's turning out to be the toughest yet. Subscribe and come along for the whole thing.
