Is this something I can even do?! | My first 5 Hang Gliding Lessons

-- Story of this video -- These are the lessons I took in 2024. Not everyone has it easy! I do not believe my experience is normal. None of my classmates faced some of the hurdles that I did. I wanted to share the initial struggle because even though it wasn't normal because it is part of my journey. The right equipment, conditions, minimal gaps between lessons, etc. can all have an effect - as does one's ability to learn. Some take to the technique really fast, but I didn't. -- Equipment -- Glider: Wills Wing Condor 330; Wills Wing Falcon 2 195; Wills Wing Falcon 3 170 Harness: Blue Sky Training Harness -- What is Hang Gliding? -- Hang gliding is the most intuitive and pure way for humans to fly. You can fly in the same position as a bird (or a superhero) and the way the glider is steered makes it feel like it's a part of you. -- My Channel -- I'm documenting my journey from the ground up as a student hang glider pilot, gathering tips from pilots, and share my journey in the sport of hang gliding. Join me as I learn to fly and overcome some unique challenges that come from being a smaller pilot. Watch me progress from the training hill all the way to mountain flights, and give information on sites I fly at and gear I use. -- Chapters -- 00:00 Notes 00:25 Lesson 1 06:34 Lesson 2 08:24 Lesson 3 11:54 Lesson 4 18:25 Lesson 5 -- Hashtags -- #hanggliding #hangglider #freeflight #deltaplane #drachenfliegen #asadelta #ハンググライダー #studentpilot #learningtofly #outdoors -- Persons in video -- This video is published by me on my YouTube channel (@TurnedSkywards) with direct permission from all of the people featured in the video. -- Important Note -- I am a student pilot sharing the journey of learning to fly like a bird, not an instructor. Don't try to learn to fly by watching my videos. Always seek professional instruction from a reputable instructor.
