Andrew Wiles: The Langlands project #ICBS2024

Langlands has proposed a deep connection between the theory of automorphic forms and the arithmetic of extensions of the rational numbers. I will trace how this has grown out of the work of nineteenth century mathematicians and describe the challenges we now face as well as current approaches to these challenges.
