First coming to prominence in the mid-60s as front man of the Irish R&B band Them, who scored an international hit with the anthemic single “Gloria,” Morrison’s career as a solo artist began auspiciously with the release of the smash “Brown Eyed Girl” in 1967. The song is still Morrison’s calling card and even forty years after its release remained the 4th most requested song on American radio, paving the way for the 1968 masterpiece Astral Weeks and its blockbuster 1970 follow-up Moondance. Astral Weeks and Moondance have since been ranked as #17 and #65 respectively on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and have cemented Morrison’s standing as an icon. The ensuing years have witnessed an endlessly creative and prolific artist working at the top of his game, recording nearly 40 studio and live albums of staggering range, from his signature blue eyed “Celtic soul” and the jazz vocal songbook of Mose Allison to an embrace of country music, Delta blues with John Lee Hooker, and Irish folk in collaboration with the Chieftains. His unforgettable songs have become part of the cultural fabric, including “Domino,” “Moondance,” “Wild Night,” “Tupelo Honey,” and “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You.” Morrison returns for three nights, his first since his October 2017 concerts with the late Joey DeFrancesco. ============================ Van Morrison live tour dates (2023): June 28 - London, UK @ Royal Albert Hall July 4 - Antwerp, Belgium @ Queen Elisabeth Hall July 5 - Brussels, Belgium @ The Cirque Royal July 7 - Rotterdam, Holland @ North Sea Jazz Festival 2023 July 22 - Cascais, Portugal @ CoolJazz Festival 2023 Aug. 25 - Sandringham, UK @ Sandringham Estate Aug. 26 - Birmingham, UK @ Páirc Festival Aug. 31 - Boston, MA @ Boch-Shubert Theater Sept. 1 - Boston, MA @ Boch-Shubert Theater Sept. 4 - San Diego, CA @ The Rady Shell Sept. 6 - Las Vegas, NV @ Bakkt Theater / Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Sept. 8 - Las Vegas, NV @ Bakkt Theater / Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Sept. 9 - Las Vegas, NV @ Bakkt Theater / Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Sept. 12 - San Francisco, CA @ SFJazz Sept. 13 - San Francisco, CA @ SFJazz Sept. 14 - San Francisco, CA @ SFJazz Sept. 16 - Santa Barbara, CA @ Santa Barbara Bowl Sept. 17 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Greek Theatre Sept. 19 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Greek Theatre Sept. 22 - Providence, RI @ Providence Performing Arts Center Sept. 24 - Providence, RI @ Providence Performing Arts Center
