Let's Talk About Hans Henny Jahnn's Perrudja

Hans Henny Jahnn's Perrudja remains untranslated, so readers of the English will have trouble accessing this highly unique modernist work, which comes at common modernist tropes (such as modernity vs the ancient, the overwhelming aspect of modern warfare, among others) from an angle I have not seen in other novels of the era. Hans Henny Jahnn is a figure well-worth exploring, and I strongly encourage you to read his work, even though for now that will largely be done in the original German. I mentioned this work in a longer video about German literature:    • So You Want To Get Into German Literature?...   Works Mentioned: Ulysses by James Joyce Molloy, Malone Dies, and The Unnamable by Samuel Beckett Moby Dick by Herman Melville Borderlands/La Frontera by Gloria Anzaldúa My new novel, Sing Lazarus, is out now.
