Carina Lawrence on Persistence, Burnout & Building a Life in Music | Artist’s Eye Chats

Carina Lawrence joins Artist’s Eye Chats for an extended conversation about building a life in music, starting again in London, persistence, burnout, community and the realities behind a creative career. From learning to DJ in Melbourne and finding her first opportunities to relocating to London and establishing herself in a completely new scene, Carina reflects on the experiences, people and decisions that have shaped her journey. She also speaks about finding balance when music becomes your work, navigating difficult periods without losing sight of why you started, releasing music through labels including Bar 25 Music, TalkTalk Records and Mobilee Records, and why progress rarely happens overnight. Artist’s Eye Chats is the long-form conversation series accompanying Artist’s Eye, giving artists more space to talk openly about their work, experiences and creative lives.
