What Is the Gospel? | 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 | Morning Devotion | Day 6

What is the Gospel? It is one of the most important questions anyone could ever ask. In today’s Christward Daily morning devotion, we turn to 1 Corinthians 15:1–4, where the Apostle Paul clearly explains the heart of the Gospel: “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” The Gospel means good news. But to understand the good news, we must first understand our problem: sin. Scripture tells us that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We cannot remove our guilt through money, success, religion, morality or good works. We do not merely need improvement. We need a Saviour. And this is the good news: Jesus Christ came to save sinners. He lived in perfect obedience to the Father, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Salvation is not something we can earn or purchase. It is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The Gospel therefore calls us to respond: Repent and believe. So today, consider this deeply personal question: Have you believed the Gospel—or have you simply been around Christianity? Come to Christ trusting not in your own righteousness, but in His death, resurrection, mercy and grace. 📖 Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 ✝️ Christward Daily — Day 6 🙏 Morning Scripture, Reflection & Prayer We have sinned.
