Dusk on Bang Po Beach — Koh Samui, Thailand (4K, Real Time)

A 22-minute fixed camera view of dusk on Bang Po Beach, Koh Samui, filmed from the sand outside Hector's. The camera doesn't move — the light fades, people walk past, and the beach dogs play. Where is Bang Po Beach? On Koh Samui's north coast, directly west of Ban Tai and Mae Nam. It's a quiet, residential stretch — small hotels, individual beachfront bungalows, and long gaps between the places to eat and drink. Past the western end of the beach the island starts to curve south toward Bang Makham and Nathon, where the true west coast begins. Can you see the sunset from Bang Po? Bang Po faces north, so the sun doesn't drop into the water directly ahead. But the coast begins to bend west at this end of the island, so the light comes across the water in a way it doesn't at Ban Tai or Bophut. For a full sunset over the sea, keep going to Nathon, Bang Makham or Lipa Noi. Does Hector's have a happy hour? Yes, 5 to 7pm daily with discounted cocktails and beers. That's what kept us there through the light going dark. What is Hector's like? A beach bar on the sand at Bang Po, dog and cat friendly, with a resident dog named Hector who the place is presumably named after. There's a quiz night every other Tuesday from 7 to 9pm.
