NYALA was the last named B1 to be scrapped and amongst the last handful of B1's to be withdrawn in September 1967. This 5" Gauge LNER Class B1, built and completed in 1998 by Mike Jeffrey. This coal fired steam locomotive is a superb example of model engineering and as you can see from the video, runs as good as it looks.
Seen here running a few laps around the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Model Engineering Society track in September 2013.
From the riding car position the reach to the controls is a little bit of a stretch, but with an extension that fastens onto the regulator, the firing shovel is used to gently move the controls as they all are easily adjusted. Hope you enjoy the ride.
