Autumn on the sanctuary is a season of intense contrasts. 🍂 We start the day immersed in pure natural sounds. The raw rumble of the tractor quickly fades into The Silence Challenge. There is something incredibly grounding about the deep, meditative quiet of the horses—a stark contrast to the loud, energetic chaos when the sheep flock takes over. But farm life is also about facing tasks you'd rather avoid. Squeezing into a tiny 40x40 cm well opening is pure claustrophobia. Maneuvering the plastic water pipe in that tight, restrictive space to secure the winter water supply is a frustrating puzzle that truly tests your nerves. To shake off that cramped feeling, the vibe shifts. With gentle instrumental music taking over, I head out to the open forest edge to fix the fences. Out here, breathing the crisp autumn air, the physical work suddenly feels like a relief. The music carries on through a quiet walk in the golden evening light, fading out just in time for the grand finale. We return to the raw sounds of nature for the familiar "Wool Wave" as the sheep settle in for the night. It is an unpolished, sometimes frustrating, but deeply fulfilling life here in the Finnish wilderness.
