The First Reading from Ecclesiastes encourages us to rejoice in life while remembering that our lives belong to God. It reminds us that youth, strength, and earthly pleasures do not last forever. Therefore, we should remember our Creator and live each day with wisdom, gratitude, and faith. The Responsorial Psalm reminds us of the shortness of human life and teaches us to ask God for wisdom: “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of heart.” In today’s Gospel, Jesus asks His disciples an important question: “But who do you say that I am?” Peter recognizes Jesus as the Christ. Jesus then reveals that the Son of Man must suffer, be rejected, be killed, and rise again. May today’s Word of God help us value the gift of life, remember our Creator, grow in wisdom, and deepen our faith in Jesus Christ.
