I turned a few pieces of scrap wood into a unique designer-style table lamp! 💡🪵 My dad’s birthday was coming up, and instead of buying him a present, I wanted to build something myself. My parents have always loved the things I make for them, so this time I decided to build a modern table lamp using leftover acacia wood from previous projects. In this video, I take you through the entire build — from a pile of scrap wood to the finished lamp. I cut and shape the acacia wood, create routing templates, add 45-degree chamfers, make a magnetic opening so the light can be replaced, repair a crack that happened during the build, and finish everything with acacia wood oil. Of course, not everything went according to plan! 😅 My small router gave up, one piece of wood cracked, and I even changed the design near the end by adding plexiglass. But that last-minute change created the glowing ring around the lamp — and became one of my favorite details of the whole build. The final combination of dark acacia wood, polished metal and warm light turned out even better than I expected. And most importantly: my dad loved his birthday present! ❤️ If you enjoyed this build, please leave a like, let me know what you think in the comments, and subscribe for more DIY, woodworking and creative projects. Thanks for watching and see you in the next one! #DIY #Woodworking #ScrapWood #DIYLamp #WoodworkingProjects #AcaciaWood #Upcycling #Handmade #DIYProjects #DesignerLamp
