I Gave Verity Another Chance. It's Still Lame.

Verity (2026) is the movie everyone on BookTok has been waiting for, and I wanted it to change my mind about the book. It didn’t. Here’s my honest Verity movie review. I read Colleen Hoover’s Verity years ago and didn’t enjoy it, so I went in hoping the adaptation would win me over. In this video I judge it as a film on its own, and I talk about Dakota Johnson’s performance, Anne Hathaway as Verity, Josh Hartnett as Jeremy, the changes from the book, the blood, and that ending. About the movie Verity is a psychological thriller directed by Michael Showalter, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel. It stars Dakota Johnson as Lowen Ashleigh, Anne Hathaway as Verity Crawford, and Josh Hartnett as Jeremy Crawford. Lowen is a struggling writer hired to finish the bestselling book series of Verity, who has been left incapacitated after an accident. While going through Verity’s notes at the Crawford home, Lowen finds a disturbing manuscript and has to work out whether it’s the truth or something more sinister. Release year: 2026. Where to watch: [VERIFY: cinema release or streaming platform]. What I cover Whether the movie works if you’ve never read the book Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett What changed from the novel The blood and whether it actually makes the film scary The ending, with spoilers (I warn you in the video) Should you watch it?
