What If Shinobu Took In Tanjiro and Nezuko

Shinobu Kocho makes an impossible choice on Natagumo Mountain: she lowers her blade and spares a demon who shielded her brother instead of feeding on him. Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado become wards of the Butterfly Mansion after the Master's judgment, with Shinobu staking her life on Nezuko's restraint. The story follows Kanao Tsuyuri as she watches the household adjust to keeping a demon under its roof—Nezuko sleeping across doorways, Tanjiro training until he faints, and Shinobu preparing for a war she does not expect to survive. When the Corps convenes and demands answers about the demon in the sun, Shinobu adds her name to the blood oath that binds Giyu and Urokodaki, promising her own life if Nezuko ever harms a human. The night before Hashira training begins, Shinobu gives Nezuko the butterfly pin her sister Kanae once wore, and Kanao decides to stop flipping the coin and start keeping the watch herself.
