B-52H STRATOFORTRESS – NORTHERN PENETRATION
2026. RAF Fairford, United Kingdom.
As US Air Force strategic bombers deploy to RAF Fairford during Operation Epic Fury, a B-52H Stratofortress crew prepares for potential follow-on missions with a demanding low-level navigation training flight over Great Britain.
Departing RAF Fairford, the mighty eight-engine bomber heads north across England before entering the rugged terrain of Scotland.
The mission takes the crew over the Cheviot Hills, Rannoch Moor, the dramatic mountains of Glencoe and the legendary Loch Ness. Flying at low altitude, the crew practices terrain awareness, precision navigation and crew coordination in challenging weather conditions.
After completing the training exercise, the Stratofortress climbs back to cruising altitude and returns to RAF Fairford.
