Playlist of my Emerald Imperium runs:    • Emerald Imperium   This run was a little different in that Brawly wasn't the big early game hurdle, but Roxanne. Holy crap, that was ridiculously hard. Another case of early manual EV grinding. On top of that, I DexNav hunted for favorable egg moves on certain Fire-types, namely Growlithe with Close Combat and Vulpix with Heat Wave. I also needed perfect confusion luck. The opponent had to hit themselves twice in a row for me to get a KO. A very miserable experience. Thankfully no other battle got that bad. Normally, the E4 would be done a day or two after clearing Victory Road. This time, I did it on the same day, and finished on that day even! I originally had Volcarona in that team. It did very well with Quiver Dance setup, but I felt weird for using a mon for the E4 that wasn't used previously in the run. As it turned out, Cinderace was able to sweep Sidney, and Ceruledge could sweep Cynthia. Those were the battles Volcarona was brought in for. So I replaced Volcarona with H-Arcanine, mainly because of Stealth rock support to nullify the use of Focus Sashes. One mon I didn't use was Incineroar, despite hatching a shiny Litten. I was trying to get a female Scorbunny from the starter egg NPC, as I wanted to breed High Jump Kick into another Scorbunny. I got a shiny Litten in the process. The mon I was very deliberate in not using was G-Darmanitan-Zen. I proved to myself that I didn't need it. I wish Charcadet was available earlier, I would've swept more trainers with Ceruledge. I didn't think about using Mega Infernape until very late in the run. By that point, I didn't feel the need to use it. I wanted to use Mega Blaziken more, but not getting Speed Boost was tough. Also, Triple Arrows' Gen 8 effect was far better for setup purposes. Giving the user a heightened Crit rate for a few turns is cool. I didn't know of the Gen 9 change until I recognized that I wasn't getting Crits all the time after using Triple Arrows. Custom shinies would've been great. Cinderace and Ceruledge's shiny forms are very lame. The music is from the SNES game Breath of Fire.
