Lyrics🎶🎶🎶
His party called from tavern light,
“To spider caves we ride tonight!”
He reached for cloak and sword and pack,
but a kitten climbed into his lap.
It purred once soft and would not stray,
so there he sat till break of day.
At dawn the dreadful news was told:
the Spider Queen had claimed them all.
Soft little paws, bright little eyes,
sleeping under candlelight.
Tiny purrs and velvet feet,
turn the wheels of fate so sweet.
Let the kings and heroes wait,
let the bells fall still at fate.
When a cat has claimed the way,
even doom must pause today.
The generals spread the battle plan,
with flags and roads and marching bands.
A royal cat leapt on the chart
and chose the pass with lazy heart.
They dared not push his tail aside,
so all the troops delayed their ride.
By noon a scout rode back to say:
“Death waited on that mountain way.”
Soft little paws, bright little eyes,
sleeping under candlelight.
Tiny purrs and velvet feet,
turn the wheels of fate so sweet.
Let the kings and heroes wait,
let the bells fall still at fate.
When a cat has claimed the way,
even doom must pause today.
A wizard raised a crystal bright
to open gates beyond the night.
A tabby watched the shining prize,
then knocked it down with golden eyes.
The spell was lost, the circle dimmed,
the wizard’s face grew pale and grim.
He searched his books and found within:
“That gate would let a demon in.”
Two kingdoms stood on edge of war,
the seal was warmed, the ink was poured.
The king reached down to stamp the page,
when off there ran a kitten sage.
It stole the ribbon, red and fine,
and lords gave chase through hall and shrine.
Then riders came with urgent breath:
“The war was born from rumors’ death.”
Soft little paws, bright little eyes,
sleeping under candlelight.
Tiny purrs and velvet feet,
turn the wheels of fate so sweet.
Let the kings and heroes wait,
let the bells fall still at fate.
When a cat has claimed the way,
even doom must pause today.
A knight prepared for horn and flame,
but could not find his helm again.
They turned it round and peered inside:
a sleepy kitten there did hide.
He stayed behind and missed the fight,
while steel was broken in the night.
His whole brave band was crushed by dawn,
but he lived on with whiskers warm.
A necromancer spoke in graves,
to wake the dead from ancient caves.
But on the book a black cat lay,
its paw across the final phrase.
“Move, dear cat,” the dark mage cried,
the cat just stretched and blinked with pride.
He missed the word, the grave stayed tight,
and not one bone arose that night.
One palace cat took up the throne
and claimed the crown room for its own.
The king just smiled and cleared the hall:
“State business waits beyond this wall.”
Soft little paws, bright little eyes,
sleeping under candlelight.
Tiny purrs and velvet feet,
turn the wheels of fate so sweet.
Let the kings and heroes wait,
let the bells fall still at fate.
When a cat has claimed the way,
even doom must pause today.
