On the night of March 3, 1969, a company of North Vietnamese PT-76 light tanks drove up Highway 512 to destroy the long-range guns at the Ben Het Special Forces camp. Four M48A3 Pattons of Company B, 1st Battalion, 69th Armor had been dug in on West Hill for about a week. This is the fight as the men who wrote it down recorded it, including what the record does and does not say about the number of tanks. Narrated with a synthetic voice. Archival footage and photographs are used for illustration. Sources: Capt. Gerald R. Cossey, "Tank vs Tank," Armor magazine, September-October 1970. Gen. Donn A.
