April 14, 2026 Waverly, NE City Council Meeting

Waverly, NE City Council Meeting held on April 14, 2026 at 6:00 pm at the Community Meeting Hall 14130 Lancashire The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Dave Hibler spoke during public comment and introduced himself as the recently appointed District 2 Director of Lower Platte South NRD and provided information regarding LPS NRD. Also during public comments Seamus Collins, Shawn Fick, and Calvin Weeks spoke in opposition of the recently approved by Planning Commission Special Use Permit 26-01 to allow for the erection of a cellular communications tower at Lawson Park. A resolution was approved to add Tucker Bliss to Waverly Fire/Rescue department. The council accepted a bid from JLC Construction for roof repairs with gutters on City Office Building. An agreement with JEO Consulting Group, Inc for engineering services for the Aquatic Center Deck Expansion project in an amount not to exceed $37,500.00 failed with a 1-3 vote. A bid from Pavers, Inc for the Amberly Road Repair Project in an amount not to exceed $12,545.00 and a bid from Duke's for sanitary sewer root control in an amount not to exceed $8,763.04 were both approved by the council. The council also approved an agreement with The Schemmer Associates Inc for engineering services for the Intersection of Amberly Road & Canongate Road in an amount not to exceed $112,800.00. LSO Deputy Brownell advised of the safety issues of golf carts & ATV's and reminded residents to follow the rules of the road to prevent accidents. Routine agenda items included approval of minutes, claims, Treasurers Report, Budget & Expense Report, and a resolution authorizing the sale of surplus personal property for Waverly Fire/Rescue. The meeting was adjourned at 6:24 p.m. The City Council went into executive session at 6:47 p.m. to protect the public interest and to receive confidential legal advice.
