Thinking about living in Harker Heights, TX in 2026? Here's what your money buys—and when I'd look at Killeen, Temple, or Nolanville instead. Tell me your price point and what you're driving to. I'll help you narrow down the homes and neighborhoods that fit your move. In this Harker Heights tour, I break down three home-price bands, established neighborhoods like Forest Hills and Skipcha Mountain Estates, the HOA exceptions, Killeen ISD school assignments, property taxes, and the drive to Fort Hood and Baylor Scott & White in Temple. The tradeoff: a higher house price can still buy more space for your budget. But older homes, repair costs, limited new construction, and your actual commute can change the decision. These are asking prices, not closed-sale prices or promises of current availability. The three price bands had median asking prices of $205,000, $290,000, and $375,000. Of the 150 Harker Heights listings in that snapshot, 139 reported no HOA; verify the specific property. The tax comparison is for tax year 2025 and covers only the city portion of the bill. Verify current rates and exemptions for the exact parcel. School assignments are address-specific, and commute times vary with traffic and gate access. The written guide may use a newer market snapshot than this recorded video.
