2 Trains Passing Under Me At Rock Slide Fence & Loud DPUs Roar At Brickyard, Altoona Pennsylvania!

Listen To These Loud Locomotives Pushing A Train In Altoona, Pennsylvania! 2 Trains Pass Each Other Right Under Me At Cassandra Railroad Overlook. These Norfolk Southern trains are in the Altoona area on the ex Conrail main line. Includes fast coal train with DPU locomotives at the rock slide fence and intermodal trains at a railroad crossing near Horseshoe Curve. I will have more Horseshoe Curve videos soon including Amtrak. The video starts in Altoona, Pennsylvania at a railroad crossing called The Brickyard. Be careful at this crossing. There are big gobs of grease built up that will ruin your shoes. There are flange greasers nearby. I got 2 intermodal trains here and the first one had a couple of locomotives working hard at the rear of the train. Music to my ears! Then I went a short distance west to Cassandra. This is on the same NS line and has a popular Railfan park that includes a pedestrian bridge over the tracks and a picnic table. An intermodal train was going by and gave us a horn salute. Shortly after that a manifest passed that train in the opposite direction and also gave us a horn salute. Pretty cool watching two trains passing each other right under us. The long manifest was headed toward Pittsburgh and the intermodal was headed towards Harrisburg. I don't know where they go after that. This is an old Conrail line that uses 160.875 as the main frequency. The last time I was here they were using 160.800 which is an old Conrail frequency. You could also use 452.9375 for EOT. The last train is a fast coal train headed westbound. It is an empty with 2 locomotives on the front and 2 in the middle. The 2 mid train DPUs were sounding pretty good. I stopped at Cassandra twice on this trip. I stopped here on my way to Strasburg and on my way back. On the way back I spent the night at the Cassandra Overlook Inn. It only costs 75 bucks and the rooms are big. The place is very old but I like places like that. I have stayed in all types of motels. There was one in Saint Marys, West Virginia that the owner wanted me to look at first. He said I looked like an "upstanding fellow" and he wanted me to look at the room before I decided to stay there. That was kind of funny because I actually wound up staying 2 nights there just to catch one street running train in the light. See that video in my Street Running Trains playlist.
