Chasing Trains Ep 19: Redwood Valley Railway's 74th Anniversary Meet

On the day of June 6th 2026, we visited the Redwood Valley Railway for their 74th Anniversary Meet. All of the Redwood Valley Railway locomotives except for the 11 were running. Unfortunately, the 11 had a mechanical issue earlier in the day. There were also two visiting locomotives from the Hillcrest and Wahtoke Railroad. Those locomotives were the Glenwood 5 and the 1-spot. As for operations, the 5 and the 7 pulled passengers while the 18 handled freight trains, the 11 was in the roundhouse getting repaired, the 4 was out on display at Army Camp, and the Glenwood 5 doubleheaded with Redwood Valley Railway's Number 5 for a couple trips before getting put away. As for engineers, the engineer for Redwood Valley Railway's Number 5 was Harrison, the engineers for the 7 were John, Joey, and Bailey, the engineers for the 18 were Jack and Damian. Fun fact, Jack was the only visiting engineer that came for the meet this year, he left Redwood Valley Railway in July 2025 and now works for the Sierra Railway in Oakdale CA. The engineer on the 4 was Dave, and the engineer on the Glenwood 5 was Jared, who I know from Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad.
