How to Play Horrified | Beginner Guide & Rules Explained

Learn how to play Horrified! In this beginner-friendly tutorial, I’ll show you how to set up the game, understand the rules, and work together to defeat the Universal Monsters before terror spreads throughout the town. Horrified is a cooperative board game for 1–5 players, where each monster has unique objectives and mechanics. Your team must rescue villagers, collect the right items, and defeat classic monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein & The Bride, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. 📚 In this video you’ll learn: • How to set up Horrified 🎲 • The objective of the game 🎯 • Choosing Heroes and Monsters 👥 • How Hero turns work 🔄 • Moving, collecting Items, and rescuing Villagers 💎 • The Monster Phase explained 👹 • How to defeat each Monster 🏆 • Terror Level and losing conditions 💀 • Beginner strategy tips 💡 💡 Each player chooses a Hero with a unique special ability that helps the team throughout the game. 💡 On your turn, spend 4 actions to move, pick up Items, defeat Monsters, or escort Villagers to safety. 💡 At the end of every Hero turn, draw a Monster Card. Monsters move, attack Heroes or Villagers, and new Items appear around the board. 💡 Every Monster has a different weakness. For example, Dracula must have his coffins destroyed before he can be defeated, while The Wolf Man requires a cure before the final battle. 💡 If too many Villagers are defeated, the Terror Level increases. If the Terror Level reaches its maximum, your team loses immediately. 💡 You also lose if you need to draw a Monster Card and the Monster deck is empty before defeating all active Monsters. 💡 For your first game, it’s recommended to play against 2 Monsters. Once you’re familiar with the rules, increase the challenge by facing 3 or 4 Monsters at the same time.
