Kimo West performs "Hula Blues" at Maui's Slack Key Show

Hula Blues is a staple for lap steel guitar and slack key guitar players due to its swinging, rhythmic melody. It is a cornerstone of Hawaiian music, first published in 1920. It was written by Johnny Noble, often called the "King of Hawaiian Music," with lyrics by Sonny Cunha. Kimo West performed this May 7, 2014 at George Kahumoku Jr's Slack Key Show at The Napili Kai Beach Resort. A Grammy winning musician, Kimo also is Weird Al Yancovic's guitarist. He sometimes tours with Ken Emerson as "Slackers in Paradise". He shows his flawless technique here in this instrumental version of the song.
