Our adventure through Mongolia begins in Ulaanbaatar, the country's vibrant capital, before we leave the city behind and head into the endless Mongolian steppe. In this first episode, we visit the famous Gandan Monastery, enjoy an unforgettable traditional Mongolian cultural performance, and begin our overland journey across one of the world's last great wildernesses. Soon the asphalt ends, and we continue off-road toward the spectacular granite formations of Baga Gazriin Chuluu, one of Mongolia's most remarkable natural landmarks. We explore its dramatic rock landscapes, ancient ruins, sacred spring, and spend the night with a local nomadic family in a traditional ger.
