What Do You Want From Jesus?

Why Did Jesus Ask, “What Do You Want Me to Do for You?” | Mark 10:46–52 | Questions About Jesus Have you ever wondered why Jesus sometimes asked questions when He already knew the answers? In Mark 10:51, Jesus asked a blind beggar named Bartimaeus: “What do you want Me to do for you?” (NASB 1995) Now, think about that! Bartimaeus was blind. He was sitting beside the road begging. Surely Jesus knew what he needed! So why would Jesus ask such an obvious question? In this week's Questions About Jesus Bible teaching, we're exploring the remarkable encounter between Jesus and blind Bartimaeus and discovering three important truths: Jesus wants us to come to Him honestly. Faith keeps calling even when others say be quiet. Jesus offers us more than a solution to our problems. When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by, he cried out for mercy. The crowd tried to silence him. But he refused to stop calling upon Jesus. And then something incredible happened. Jesus stopped. In the middle of a busy crowd, Jesus stopped for one blind beggar. Bartimaeus received his sight, but the story doesn't end there. Mark 10:52 tells us that he began following Jesus on the road. He didn't simply receive something from Jesus. He became a follower of Jesus. And that's where this story becomes personal. How often do we approach Jesus primarily because we want Him to fix something? We ask Him to change our circumstances, solve our problems, and answer our prayers. And there's nothing wrong with bringing our needs before Him. But here's a question worth considering: Do we want Jesus only for what He can do for us, or do we want Jesus Himself? The greatest gift Jesus offers isn't simply relief from our problems. It's forgiveness, salvation, and a relationship with Him. Don't just seek what Jesus can give you. Seek Jesus Himself! 📖 Primary Scripture: Mark 10:46–52 (NASB 1995) 💬 Join the conversation: If Jesus asked you today, “What do you want Me to do for you?” how would you answer? 👍 If this message encouraged you, please like, share, and subscribe for more Bible teaching. 📺 Subscribe to Jeff Dabbs Ministries:    / @jeffdabbsministries   🌐 Bible studies, books, and ministry resources: https://jeffdabbsministries.com Join me each week for: Monday: Questions About Jesus — Bible Teaching Wednesday: Wisdom Wednesday Friday: Friday Faith Minute Bible Truth.
