This RV Trip Did NOT Go According to Plan…

Our Midwest RV adventure didn’t exactly go according to plan! We started out hoping to visit Indiana Dunes National Park, only to find it closed. Then, on our way to Sublette, Illinois, we picked up a flat tire and found ourselves fixing it on the side of the highway. But the unexpected stops turned out to be some of the most memorable parts of the trip. We stayed at Woodhaven Lakes Resort, visited Ronald Reagan’s childhood home in Dixon, Illinois, and explored the historic Dillon Home in Sterling. Then we headed to Ames, Iowa, where we caught up with an old friend and discovered street music, a chocolate shop, and one of the most uniquely Ames stops of all — the Raygun T-shirt shop! From there, we continued on to Spirit Lake, Iowa, where we visited Arnolds Park, enjoyed some classic Nutty Bars, watched a wedding, and tried to visit the Indian Motorcycle factory. It wasn’t the trip we originally planned, but that’s often how RV adventures go — the unexpected stops can end up being the best part!
