🇸🇪 Sweden Scholarships for International Students | How to Apply Step by Step
Are you planning to study in Sweden but worried about tuition fees and education costs? In this video, I explain the complete scholarship process for international students who want to study in Sweden.
I discuss how Swedish scholarships work, where to find them, how to check eligibility, when to apply, and what documents you may need. This video is especially helpful for students from Pakistan and other non-EU countries who are planning to apply for a bachelor’s, master’s, or postgraduate programme in Sweden.
In this video, I explain the two main ways to apply for university scholarships in Sweden.
✅ Some universities allow you to apply for a scholarship at the same time as your admission application.
✅ Other universities ask you to apply for the scholarship separately after you submit your admission application.
✅ Some scholarships require you to receive an admission offer before you can apply.
✅ Some universities consider you automatically, while others require a separate scholarship form.
✅ Every university has its own eligibility criteria, deadline, documents, and selection process.

Scholarship application timeline
Some universities require the scholarship application before the admission results are announced. Other universities may allow students to apply after they receive an admission decision.
The scholarship result is often announced around March or during the spring admission cycle, but the exact date depends on the university and scholarship programme. Deadlines and result dates can change every year, so always confirm the latest information from the official university website.
Do not wait until the last day. Prepare your documents early, check the requirements carefully, and submit your application before the deadline.
Swedish Institute scholarship
In this video, I also discuss the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals, which is offered by the Swedish Institute.
This does not mean that Pakistani students cannot receive any scholarship in Sweden. Pakistani students may still find opportunities through:
✅ University scholarships
✅ Tuition-fee waivers
✅ Departmental scholarships
✅ Programme-specific funding
✅ External scholarships
✅ Research and doctoral funding
✅ Scholarships offered directly by Swedish universities
Always check the latest eligibility list on the official Swedish Institute website because scholarship rules and eligible countries may change.
Important information for Pakistani students
Before applying, check:
✅ Whether the university offers scholarships to Pakistani students
✅ Whether the scholarship covers the full tuition fee or only part of it
✅ Whether living expenses are included
✅ Whether the scholarship is automatically considered
✅ Whether a separate scholarship application is required
✅ Whether work experience is required
✅ Whether the scholarship covers one year or the complete programme
✅ Whether the scholarship is available for your chosen programme
✅ Whether the scholarship deadline is earlier than the admission deadline
A tuition-fee scholarship does not always cover accommodation, food, transport, insurance, residence-permit costs, or other living expenses. Read the scholarship terms carefully before making financial plans.
