Zephaniah 3:17 — He Sings Over You

"The one who knows every failure, every repeated mistake, every hidden thing looks at all of it and sings." 🕊️ Zephaniah 3:17 — "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." — Holy Bible, NIV Most people carry a quiet assumption that God is watching them the way a teacher watches a student who keeps getting it wrong. Patient, maybe. But disappointed underneath. This verse says that posture is over. Not replaced with tolerance. Replaced with delight. He is not enduring you. He is singing over you. ───────────────────────────────── 📖 SCRIPTURE ───────────────────────────────── Zephaniah 3:15-17 (NIV) "The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, 'Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp.' The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." ───────────────────────────────── 🎵 LYRICS ───────────────────────────────── I have spent most of my life Assuming that God Was watching me The way a teacher watches A student who keeps getting it wrong With patience perhaps But underneath the patience A quiet disappointment That I could feel Even when nothing was said That posture became so familiar I stopped noticing I was carrying it Until I read what Zephaniah wrote And something in me Went very still He takes great delight in you He rejoices over you with singing Not tolerance Not patient endurance Of someone He is waiting To finish disappointing Him Delight The word means He is glad You exist The Lord your God is with you The Mighty Warrior who saves He will take great delight in you In His love He will not rebuke you But rejoice over you With singing He sings over you The God of everything Finds you worth singing over And that is almost Too much to receive But it is true He sings over you I know what it is To be celebrated By someone whose opinion Means everything to you And how it changes The way you carry yourself To be not just tolerated Not just forgiven But delighted in By the one whose view of you Is the truest view there is That is what this verse says He is not enduring you He is singing over you In His love He will no longer rebuke you Which means the critical voice You assumed was His Was never His The one who knows everything about you Every failure Every repeated mistake Every hidden thing Looks at all of it And sings The Lord your God is with you The Mighty Warrior who saves He will take great delight in you In His love He will not rebuke you But rejoice over you With singing He sings over you The God of everything Finds you worth singing over And that is almost Too much to receive But it is true He sings over you He sings over you He delights in you He sings Over you ───────────────────────────────── 🎵 Music generated with AI 📖 Scripture from the Holy Bible (NIV) 🎵 Lyrics video — watch until the end 🎨 Artwork generated with AI 📝 Concept & Direction by Still Waters Music If this verse found you carrying a disappointment you assumed was God's, drop a comment.
