Disguised Politician Caught On Camera Moments Before Killing A Reporter
On the morning of September 3, 2022, a neighbor in northwest Las Vegas called 911 about an open garage door. Jeff German, 69, an investigative reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, was found dead beside his home. He had been stabbed the day before.
Neighbors' cameras had caught a figure in a wide straw hat and an orange top with reflective stripes walking down his street. Within days, the walk, the shoes and a maroon SUV pointed to Robert Telles, 45, the elected Clark County public administrator whose office German had been investigating. Telles told a jury he was home that morning, apart from a walk, and that he'd been framed. But 22 cameras, a phone that sent nothing for five hours, DNA under German's fingernails and his own answers on the witness stand told a different story.
Using neighborhood surveillance, police body cameras, 911 recordings, trial testimony and the exhibits shown in open court, this documentary follows the case from the first call to the verdict and the sentence.
