EP Desk, Pasighat, September 12: Ponung Nangkar, Contestant No. 8, was crowned Miss Lune 2026 during the grand finale of the pageant held at Gi:di Notko, Pasighat, as part of the Central Solung Festival Celebration. Nangkar also won the Best Costume title and took home the winner’s prize of ₹1.5 lakh. Api Tatin, Contestant No. 10, was declared the 1st Runner-Up and won the Miss Catwalk title, while Augusty Taggu, Contestant No. 15, secured the 2nd Runner-Up position and was awarded Miss Talent. Other subtitle holders included Ainam Tatin, Contestant no.5 as Miss Congeniality, Runima Pertin,Contestant no.6 as Miss Personality and Ponung Eko, contestant no.7 as Miss Popular. CSFCC President Jorshing Moyong expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, judges, sponsors and supporters, while urging the audience to encourage the contestants, stressing that the participants had come forward not merely to showcase beauty but also their talent, confidence, personality and individuality. The finale was attended by Chief Guest Smti. Dui Gao and Guest of Honour Smti. Binaymoti Modi, Vice Principal of Higher Secondary Mebo. The judging panel comprised Er. Mari Ete from the Greater Siang Committee, along with Miss Pura Sumpi, Reigning Miss Universe Arunachal 2025, and Smti. Kime Ana Lingu, Reigning Mrs Arunachal 4th Runner-Up 2025. The programme featured the Traditional Round, a fitness presentation by the East Siang Body Building Association, Formal Round, Casual Round and Gown Round, along with musical performances and felicitations of guests and sponsors. Host Jobom Cheng Mengu also highlighted a special cultural element of the event—the display of images conceptualised by Aroti Jongkey, which depicted elements of Adi mythology and folktales. The initiative added a cultural dimension to the pageant, connecting the celebration of young talent with the community’s traditional stories and heritage. Addressing the contestants, Chief Guest Smti. Dui Gao encouraged the young participants to value the experience of taking part in the competition, noting that not everyone can emerge as a winner, but participation itself provides an opportunity to learn, gain confidence and acquire valuable experiences. She also advised the contestants to give equal importance to their education and academic pursuits. Guest of Honour Smti.
