Given that floods are now making their way to Sindh, it seems strange to argue that Pakistan is water scarce. But Dr. Taimur Rahman shows that water scarcity is a product of the lack of a water infrastructure that can harness the flow of water during the monsoon and use it for the periods of water scarcity. Based purely on academic research, this video makes the case that water extraction via tube wells from the Indus ground water system is already stretched to a limit. Hence, it cannot solve Pakistan's water scarcity problems as Dr. Hassan Abbas has suggested in many programs.
