Riding my BMW R1300GS past the historic Mile Zero staging line and deep into the remote wilderness of the Alaska Highway on Day 12 of this solo motorcycle adventure travel series is a surreal milestone. This long-form overland motovlog tracks my route leaving Dawson Creek, British Columbia, hunting down the historic Kiskatinaw Curved Bridge detour, and managing critical fuel ranges through Pink Mountain and Buckinghorse Lodge on the final push to Fort Nelson. Experience pure motorcycle freedom, premium big-screen scenic b-roll, and raw real-time reflections on learning to love your own company on the road - come ride with me! 🏍️ THE EXPEDITION ALASKA MISSION This is Day 12 of Expedition Alaska - a solo, unfiltered 45-day, 9,225-mile motorcycle journey from Las Vegas to Alaska and back. Tailored precisely to our core audience watching on big-screen televisions across the United States and Canada, this series highlights the technical realities of overland travel, motorcycle gear boundaries, and the unvarnished grit of long-distance motorcycle touring. THE REAL ROAD TO ALASKA: DAWSON CREEK TO FORT NELSON The Alaska Highway begins here. After months of research, planning, and dreaming about this journey, I’m finally leaving Dawson Creek, British Columbia - the legendary Mile Zero - and heading north toward Fort Nelson. Day 12 marks the beginning of the real journey to Alaska. Before heading north, I take a remote detour along the original path to discover the historic Kiskatinaw Curved Bridge. Finding a quiet forest road and a remarkable piece of history is a perfect reminder of why I love exploring beyond the obvious tourist stops. From there, the journey continues through British Columbia's changing landscapes, across massive bridges, past rivers, and into increasingly remote territory. Fuel planning becomes absolutely essential with massive, empty distances between reliable stops. Pink Mountain and Buckinghorse Lodge become critical waypoints before our arrival in Fort Nelson. During the long, straight stretches of highway, I reflect on one of the most important lessons of solo travel: learning to enjoy your own company, building mental independence, and understanding yourself out in the wild. The adventure is moving north. The Alaska Highway is no longer just a line on a map - it’s happening. 📍 EPISODE 12 ROUTE & HIGHLIGHTS: • Departure: Dawson Creek, B.C.
