🎙️ THE BOY FROM THE RUSSIAN HOUSE | Chapter 1/4

Before the questions about death, faith, fear and forgiveness… there was a boy growing up in a Russian-speaking home in Canada. In Chapter 1 of The Divine Within, Santiago Kneeland sits down with Serge “Tio Sergio” Jusyp to understand the man behind the method. Serge was raised by immigrant parents in a home where Russian was spoken and where the Russian Orthodox faith formed part of everyday life. Those early years gave him structure. Tradition. Ritual. A language for God. But as he grew older, Serge began to look for something more direct. Something less dependent on form. Less about getting the ritual right. More about the relationship itself. In 1980, he encountered The Urantia Book. What he found there did not feel like another layer of religious obligation. For Serge, it felt liberating. A way of thinking about God that removed some of the machinery between the individual and the divine. And over time, that changed the way he approached spirituality. Not as something to perform. Not as something to inherit unquestioningly. But as something to examine, experience and live. Serge also spent his professional life as a lawyer. A career built around asking precise questions. Looking closely. Refusing vague answers. And maybe that is part of why, decades later, his spiritual life has taken on the same character. He doesn’t want to waste time on polite conversation if something deeper is available. He wants to ask: What do you really believe? What are you afraid of? What happens when we die? What is your real religion? This chapter is where all of that begins. With the house he grew up in. The faith he inherited. The questions he learned to ask. And the freedom he found when spirituality became something more personal. En el Capítulo 1 de The Divine Within, Santiago Kneeland conversa con Serge “Tio Sergio” Jusyp para conocer al hombre detrás de su forma tan particular de conversar. Serge creció con padres inmigrantes, hablando ruso en casa y dentro de la tradición ortodoxa rusa. Aquellos años le dieron estructura. Tradición. Rituales. Una forma de hablar de Dios. Pero con el tiempo empezó a buscar algo más directo. Algo menos dependiente de las formas. Menos preocupado por cumplir correctamente el ritual. Y más centrado en la relación personal con Dios. En 1980 conoció El Libro de Urantia. Y lo que encontró no le pareció una nueva carga religiosa. Para Serge fue algo liberador. Una manera de entender a Dios con menos intermediarios y menos estructura entre la persona y lo divino. Eso terminó cambiando su manera de vivir la espiritualidad. No como algo que representar. No como algo que aceptar simplemente porque lo había heredado. Sino como algo que debía examinar, experimentar y vivir. Serge también pasó su vida profesional como abogado. Un trabajo basado en hacer preguntas precisas. Mirar de cerca. No conformarse con respuestas vagas. Y quizá por eso, décadas después, su vida espiritual funciona de una manera parecida. Si puede existir una conversación más profunda, no quiere quedarse en lo superficial. Quiere preguntar: ¿Qué crees realmente? ¿A qué tienes miedo? ¿Qué ocurre cuando morimos? ¿Cuál es tu verdadera religión? Este capítulo es el origen de todo eso. La casa en la que creció. La fe que heredó. Las preguntas que aprendió a hacer. Y la libertad que encontró cuando la espiritualidad se volvió más personal.
