Camping in Tahoe National Forest During a Fire Ban... and Finding Sky High Poopers!

What happens when you head into Tahoe National Forest during a fire ban looking for the perfect dispersed campsite? You explore some incredible backroads, discover alpine lakes, visit a fire lookout, and somehow end up finding Sky High Poopers. 💩🏔️ We're back in the Toyota FJ Cruiser for another Northern California overlanding and camping adventure. Putzing. This time we're exploring the beautiful Tahoe National Forest near Interstate 80, getting off the pavement, checking out a remote fire lookout, and searching for a great spot to camp in the mountains. With campfires off the table, we're making the most of the mountain scenery, forest roads, and everything else this incredible part of the Sierra Nevada has to offer. 🏕️ Gear Highlight: One of my favorite pieces of camping gear on this trip is my TETON pop-up quick tent system. Easy setup means more time exploring and less time messing around at camp. 🚙 In this adventure: Exploring Tahoe National Forest in the Toyota FJ Cruiser Visiting a mountain fire lookout near Interstate 80 Discovering alpine lakes and scenic Sierra Nevada backroads Finding dispersed camping spots during a fire ban Testing out my TETON quick-setup tent And yes... finding the mysterious Sky High Poopers!
