3 hours of slow, dark ambient music made to help you fall asleep. No drums, no melody to follow, no sudden changes — just low, warm chords that move every 12 seconds, with a few soft notes on top. The screen goes black after one minute.
How we made it
• A 2020 study of music people actually used to fall asleep found the pieces that worked had a dark, bass-heavy mix, long connected (legato) notes and a rhythm you can't dance to — and that those features mattered more than genre. (Dickson & Schubert, Musicae Scientiae, 2020) That's the recipe here.
• Every note is generated fresh by code — no loops, no samples.
What the research actually says
• Music is the best-supported sound for sleep. A Cochrane review of 13 trials (about 1,000 adults with insomnia) found that listening to music probably improves subjective sleep quality. (Jespersen et al., Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2022)
• It's less clear whether music changes how severe insomnia is or how often you wake up — the evidence there is weak.
• The trials mostly used music every night for weeks: a routine matters more than any single night.
Not medical advice. Ongoing trouble sleeping? Talk to a professional — insomnia is very treatable (CBT-I is the first-line treatment).
