In January 2025 a single word on a dark screen during Raw on Netflix introduced Penta to WWE, and a week later in San Jose he beat Chad Gable in his first match. For most of the audience it was a new name. For him it was the ninth, and almost every name before it ended up belonging, on paper, to somebody else. This is the story of Penta, born in Ecatepec on the northern edge of Mexico City, who wrestled as Zaius and Dark Dragon before AAA made him Pentagon Jr., a character Antonio Peña created in 1995 as the evil twin of Octagon, with a name the business called cursed. We follow his run in Lucha Underground as the man who broke arms, the Cero Miedo match against Vampiro at Ultima Lucha, Pentagon Dark, the seven-season contracts Dave Meltzer reported on, and the January 2017 week when Penta Zero M was filed by him and then by Lucha Libre FMV. From there it moves to the Impact World Championship win over Austin Aries at Redemption 2018, the return to AAA as Pentagon Jr. and the Triplemania XXVI cage match with L.A. Park and El Hijo del Fantasma, the Young Bucks and the start of AEW, the Lucha Brothers with Rey Fenix, Death Triangle, Penta El Zero Miedo, the trademark filings in the United States, and the WWE purchase of AAA announced on WrestleMania 41 weekend. A lucha libre and Mexican wrestling documentary about a luchador who crossed between Mexico and America and kept changing his mask, his colors and his name.
