Join me for a peaceful autumn walk through the green side of Södermalm in Stockholm. It’s a beautiful sunny day, with the allotment gardens glowing in autumn colors as we wander along the small paths towards Årstaviken. The allotment gardens here are part of a long Stockholm tradition. Eriksdalslunden was established in 1906 and is one of the city’s oldest allotment garden areas. The movement was originally driven by social reformers who wanted to give working-class families living in crowded city neighborhoods the opportunity to grow their own food, spend time outdoors and enjoy a small piece of nature. More than a century later, these little gardens have become a treasured part of Stockholm’s green heritage – and having an allotment in the inner city is highly sought after today. From the gardens, we continue down towards Årstaviken and follow the water before heading back to the gardens and later reaching the unused railway tracks – a familiar place for those of you who have been walking with me for a while. Golden leaves, quiet garden plots, blue water and old railway tracks in the autumn sun. A calm glimpse of Södermalm away from its busy streets. 📍 Södermalm & Årstaviken, Stockholm, Sweden 🍂 Autumn colors ☀️ Sunny and calm 🌿 Historic allotment gardens 🛤️ Abandoned railway tracks 🔇 No talking 🎧 Natural ambient sounds #Stockholm #Södermalm #walkingtour
