You Call Me Saint — Sanian’s Song | Saint Sabbat | Gaunt’s Ghosts | Warhammer 40K

“You call me Saint. Who calls me by my name?” A melancholic military folk metal song about Saint Sabbat, Sanian, and the girl beneath the hopes of an entire crusade. Inspired by Dan Abnett’s Gaunt’s Ghosts, with female alto vocals, marching drums, a growing choir, and the mournful sound of Tanith’s pipes. Before they called her the Beati, her name was Sanian. On Hagia, she was an esholi who met Brin Milo and the Tanith First. On Herodor, she sincerely believed herself to be Saint Sabbat reborn, while General Lugo used her presence to strengthen his own position. Gaunt and Zweil recognised Sanian and knew that her claim was mistaken. Only after Sabbatine’s death did Sabbat truly return within her. This song follows those separate stages and asks a more personal question: when everyone needs you to be their saint, who remembers the person you were? Milo’s pipes connect that question to Tanith. The line about kissing his cheek recalls a moment in Honour Guard; Sanian’s later thoughts and the song’s intimate perspective are a poetic interpretation. 📚 Inspired primarily by: • Honour Guard — Dan Abnett • Sabbat Martyr — Dan Abnett ⚠️ Contains spoilers for both novels. 🔥 More Warhammer songs and stories:    / @vishrani   Come and stay a while by the promethium fire. 🎵 Original fan song by Vishrani.
