Today I went around St Matthew's Lodge No 1447 Masonic Hall for The Heritage open days Festival. It was really good seeing all the history. The Brigg Road hall is recognized as the oldest purpose-built Masonic hall in Lincolnshire. Founder: Matthew Barnett arrived in Barton in 1786 to run a school at St. Mary’s Church. First Lodge: Finding no local Masonic lodge, he rowed across the Humber to join the Minerva Lodge in Hull, then petitioned to start a group in Barton.l Opening: The original St. Matthew's Lodge was consecrated on St. Matthew's Day, 21st September 1787, meeting at the historic George Inn. Closure: That first iteration eventually closed after roughly 75 years, leading to a 25-year absence of Freemasonry in the town. located on Brigg Road, Barton-upon-Humber, North Lincolnshire, DN18 5DH ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ I'm giving my full credit to the artist and music that I chose to use in my video today. 📜 LICENSE & PERMISSION Music: Moon by Alexander Nakarada (https://creatorchords.com) Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
