Gearheads VII

What started in 2020 with a simple “you won’t do it” has somehow turned into seven years of Gearheads for Kids. From September 3–7, 2026, our crew took on roughly 900 km through Ontario cottage country, riding from Toronto to Stony Lake, Madawaska, Gravenhurst, Uxbridge, and finally back home to Toronto. Five days, a lot of time in the saddle, an impressive amount of snacks, and more hills than any of us remember agreeing to. Behind the long days and questionable enthusiasm for cycling enormous distances is a cause that means a lot to us. Gearheads for Kids raises money for Amici Children’s Camp Charity, which helps children from lower-income families attend overnight summer camp year after year. Many of us grew up at camp ourselves and know firsthand how much it can shape a kid’s confidence, independence, resilience, and friendships. The goal of this ride has always been simple: take on something challenging, have a lot of fun along the way, and help give more kids the opportunity to experience everything camp has to offer. Seven years later, we’re still riding, still fundraising, and still discovering that Ontario is considerably larger when you travel through it on a bicycle. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported the riders, followed along, fed us, housed us, or helped make Gearheads VII possible.
