The *September 15, 2026 C64 opposition demonstrations in the Democratic Republic of Congo* ended in tension, injuries, arrests and political accusations after the main Kinshasa procession was disrupted in **Limete**. The march had begun peacefully, with opposition supporters gathering at the *Échangeur de Limete* and other mobilisation points before moving toward Boulevard Triomphal. Senior opposition figures including *Martin Fayulu, Jean-Marc Kabund and Delly Sesanga* joined the mobilisation. However, the situation changed dramatically around the **11th and 12th streets of Limete**, where clashes broke out between opposition demonstrators and people identified by opposition sources as members of the **Force du Progrès**, a group associated with the presidential UDPS political camp. Police also intervened as the situation deteriorated. The confrontation caused the main procession to break apart before it could complete its planned route. It is important to clarify that the original plan to reach the *Palais du Peuple* had already been modified before the march. The agreed route was expected to end near the **ECiDé headquarters on Boulevard Triomphal**, with a smaller delegation expected to carry the opposition’s message to Parliament. At the time of this report, Rwanda Updates had not found reliable confirmation that the memorandum was ultimately delivered to Parliament. After the clashes, *Martin Fayulu* said the opposition’s memorandum had become “verbal” and summarised it around three main demands: **No constitutional change. No third presidential term. No balkanisation of the country.** Fayulu described the events in Limete as extremely serious and accused the authorities, police and Force du Progrès of setting what he called a premeditated ambush against demonstrators. These are allegations made by Fayulu and other C64 leaders. Rwanda Updates has not independently established that President Félix Tshisekedi personally ordered or coordinated the violence. Fayulu also announced that the next step could involve legal action against **President Félix Tshisekedi, his government and Kinshasa city authorities**, before national courts and potentially international institutions. The key question now is what happens next. As of the end of the day, *C64 had not yet announced a new date for another nationwide demonstration* to replace the march disrupted in Kinshasa. The movement therefore faces a strategic choice: return to the streets, pursue legal action, intensify political pressure, or engage in dialogue.
