Welcome:- Chincholi Wildlife Sanctuary Chincholi Wildlife Sanctuary is South India's first dryland wildlife sanctuary, located in the Chincholi taluk of the Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) district in Karnataka. Quick Facts Area: Spans 134.88 square kilometers across five forest blocks (Chincholi, Sangapura, Bhonsapur, Magdumpur, and Shadipur). Established: Declared a protected sanctuary in 2011. Geography: Known locally as "Mini Malnad" for its surprisingly dense green cover and features reminiscent of the Western Ghats within an arid region. Water Bodies: Centered around the scenic Chandrampalli Dam. Flora and Fauna Plants: Features dry and moist deciduous forests in the core, teak and acacia on the fringes, alongside valuable trees like sandalwood, red sanders, and various medicinal herbs. Animals: Serves as a safe haven for Indian wolves, striped hyenas, blackbucks, four-horned antelopes, common foxes, and all four wild canid species found in Karnataka.
