SSpooktober continues, and Sonny Crockett is diving into another horror game! This time, we're checking out Look Outside, a bizarre survival horror RPG that several members of Sonny's community have been recommending. And after checking this game out, Sonny can already tell he's in for something special. Imagine if Dragon Quest was set inside one of Sonny's own nightmares. Take the classic RPG formula, throw in grotesque monsters, disturbing encounters, a dark and oppressive atmosphere, and a world that's completely gone off the rails, and you've got Look Outside. The retro pixel art looks fantastic, the creatures are absolutely nightmare-inducing, and the whole concept has Sonny hyped to see what kind of weirdness awaits behind every door. This is exactly the sort of strange indie horror game that makes Spooktober worth celebrating. So tonight, we're going to explore, fight, scavenge, meet some very questionable individuals, and hopefully avoid becoming another victim of whatever the hell is happening outside. WHAT IS LOOK OUTSIDE? Developed by Francis Coulombe and published by Devolver Digital, Look Outside is a survival horror RPG released in March 2025. The game takes place inside an apartment building after a mysterious event transforms anyone who looks out a window into a grotesque monster. With the outside world in chaos, survival means exploring the building, scavenging for food and supplies, crafting equipment, and encountering the strange residents who remain. Some might become valuable allies, while others could be just as dangerous as the monsters themselves. Look Outside combines turn-based combat, resource management, exploration, and old-school RPG mechanics with a heavy dose of body horror and psychological weirdness. Between dangerous expeditions and encounters with the building's inhabitants, there's plenty to discover about this increasingly disturbing situation. It's part survival horror, part classic RPG, and part fever dream. And the less we know going in, the better. No spoilers tonight.
