Since we're finally starting on the new engine build for my '74 MGBGT autocrosser, it's time to start looking at different ways to modify the oil pan to do a better job of keeping the oil around the oil pump pick up during hard cornering. We want to prevent oil pressure loss due to sucking air and reduce oil foaming. We begin by looking at the different oil pans used on the MGB and how to tell them apart. I discuss the baffle that I had made for my last engine using the Special Tuning Book specifications and why I won't be doing the same thing on the new engine. And finally after working thru some of my new ideas, we get to cutting the pan apart and modifying the oil pickup screen to allow for smaller openings in the baffle itself. This will be an ongoing project as we build the new engine, so be sure to look for more videos coming in the near future.
