Eine außergewöhnliche Leistung für den 34. Zagreb Powerade Marathon: Erfahrene Läufer aus aller Welt kamen in die kroatische Hauptstadt zu einem einzigartigen Wettkampf ohne Altersbeschränkungen. Zagreb wurde offiziell als Austragungsort des diesjährigen World Veteran Marathon bestätigt… Wir waren auch vor Ort dabei und es war ein tolles Lauferlebnis für uns. Der Zagreb-Marathon blickte auf eine lange und beeindruckende Geschichte zurück. Seit dem ersten Lauf im Jahr 1992 mit nur wenigen Dutzend Teilnehmern hatte er sich zu einem der größten und bekanntesten Sportereignisse Kroatiens entwickelt. Heute waren Marathonläufe weit mehr als nur Sportveranstaltungen. Fast alle Metropolen der Welt – von New York und Berlin bis London und Tokio – haben Marathons, die zu ihrer Identität und ihrem Selbstverständnis gehörten. An extraordinary achievement for the 34th Zagreb Powerade Marathon: experienced runners from all over the world gathered in the Croatian capital for a unique competition with no age restrictions. Zagreb was officially confirmed as the host city for this year’s World Masters (Veteran) Marathon… We were there, too, and it was a fantastic running experience for us. The Zagreb Marathon boasts a long and impressive history. Since the first race in 1992, which featured only a few dozen participants, it has grown into one of Croatia’s largest and most well-known sporting events. Today, marathons are much more than just athletic competitions. Almost every major metropolis in the world—from New York and Berlin to London and Tokyo—has a marathon that has become an integral part of its identity and self-image.
