MotorStorm - Arctic Edge - I can't believe I've never played this before!

Motorstorm - Arctic Edge - I've had this forever, but i can't remember the last time I played it, so I cracked open PCSX2 and fired her up, as they say. I was thinking to myself, "I didn't realized they made a Motorstorm game for the PS2, but - originally - they didn't. This was for....PSP, I beleive, then, like a couple of other titles (GTA Vice City, Midnight Club) they ported games created for the PSP back over to the PS2. How is it? I'm sorry, I'm not going to lie - it's not fantastic. As a Motorstorm game, it's at around 6/10. If it had been a standalone game, it would have ranked higher (in my books at least) - but Motorstorm and Motorstorm Pacific Rift (which I must say, came out fairly quickly after the first one - why can't that happen now? Why does every game take 10 years for a sequel - and i know that's more of a rhetorical question - 'because the technology is much more complicated , silly'....but I will say - when *these * (and most ps2/original xbox/ps3/xbox 360 games) were released, they didn't rely on day one patches - they couldn't because most people didn't have high speed internet with unlimited bandwidth and gigantic storage devices... sorry, I'll stop. I just miss the days when you didn't need to worry about your game not working the day you bought it. Also, I like game disks, and I will hold on to mine for as long as they work. Hint - to preserve the life of your cd's and dvd's, keep them in their cases - sunlight/bright lights as well - they degrade the disks over time. The data is on the other side of the disk's label - the shiny surface of the disk is just protection. The more you know (anyone my age - or over 40 - knows all this.) any hoo...I'm not sure I'm going to play this very often - it's a bit stiff and the steering is weird and the overall vibe screams 'play me on a handheld, i swear i look fantastic on a 5 inch screen'... thanks for watching - stay tuned for more - i'm in one of my 'prolific' spells....
